Poetry & Poetics Workshop

at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor

The Poetry & Poetics Workshop at the University of Michigan (est. 2007) is a special interest group of the Department of English Language & Literature, as well as a Rackham Interdisciplinary Workshop affiliated with the broader University. We provide an interdisciplinary forum for professors and graduate students to exchange works-in-progress on poetry, poetics, and lyric theory. We invite visiting scholars to the University to give papers, often bringing them together with Michigan faculty for panels and round-table discussions that open into Q&A-style dialogues with graduate student and faculty attendees.

The Poetry & Poetics Workshop is hosted by Professors Gillian White (English) and Benjamin Paloff (Slavic and Comparative Literature). The Graduate Student Coordinators are Maya Day (English), Renee Wehrle, and Marianna Hagler (English). The workshop encourages attendance by students and faculty working in a range of languages and creative and scholarly disciplines. Please contact a coordinator if you are not yet on the workshop email list and would like to receive updates and announcements.

The Poetry & Poetics Workshop would like to thank the Rackham Graduate School and the Department of English Language & Literature for their generous support.
